A Youtube channel is gaining some traction with its informational video about a scorpion and a black widow. You wouldn’t want to catch either of these creatures in the wild, so “NewBeanMeister22” does it for you! In the video, you can see a scorpion in what appears to be an enclosed container with multiple black widows. Black widows are not the most dangerous spider on Earth, despite what the Marvel comic book claims. They do, however, have a more frightening moniker than Australia’s funnel-web spiders, which are the true most deadly spiders on the planet. The black widow, on the other hand, is quite lethal to this scorpion. The most venomous spider in the United States is the black widow. They employ a substance called alpha-latrotoxin in their venom, which is roughly 15 times more potent than rattlesnake venom and overwhelms nerve cells to produce excruciating agony. All scorpions contain venom, although it is varied and intricate. Only around 25 of the 1,500 known species are estimated to be able to kill people. With two pinchers and a deadly sting, you’d think this spider couldn’t stand a chance against the scorpion. This nimble and clever black widow doesn’t have to use its bite to injure the scorpion. It’s common misinformation that black widows can only fight within their web. While narrating the video, NewBeanMeister22 makes sure to inform videos that’s clearly not the case. The spider in the video uses its webbing to tie up the scorpion, prohibiting it from being able to pinch it. If you look closely, you can see the scorpion actually has hold of the black widow in its forward pinchers. Still, the scorpion’s hard shell is working to protect it from the arachnid. It doesn’t take too much longer for the spider to tie up the scorpion’s dangerous stinging tail, keeping itself safe from any harm. One viewer wrote a comment that shows how this interaction between the two critters isn’t the norm. It reads: “Most times without a web the spider gets flatlined against a scorpion. I do believe however that the spider seems more intelligent and if the scorpion is uninterested or not hungry it can allow itself to be caught like in this video. If a scorpion just goes immediately for the kill there is virtually no chance for the widow.” Check out the video below to get an up-close look at a black widow tying up a lonely scorpion.
