Alligators are nocturnal, which means they are most active at night. Gators are vicious predators. They frequently spread out in great numbers along the water’s edge during the day to sun themselves. They spend the nighttime in the water, where they live alone and create their own domains. A group of people spots an alligator during the day on the shore near their home. Even in states like Florida, it can still be jaw-dropping to see these ancient beasts so close to civilization. This family has a small, but mighty dog. The pooch doesn’t have an ounce of hesitation as it barks and runs at the alligator. The first time the canine approaches the gator, it retreats back into the water and the people cheer for the dog’s victory!
Testing the Waters
It appears like this little pooch has done this before. While it’s hard to tell from the short clip, we’re assuming alligators frequent this area. Once again, the golden-haired canine runs at an alligator sunning on the shore. Like clockwork, the scaled, 500-pound animal, finds himself heading into the water once again. Just like the first time, the dog’s owners can be heard cheering from behind the camera. They’re proud of and impressed their pet can spook such a giant animal. It shouldn’t need to be said, but if you live somewhere with crocodiles or alligators actively roaming around, please keep pets and small children indoors. Unfortunately for this adorable pup, its owners didn’t heed this warning. A third and final interaction between the pooch and the alligator ended a little differently. When the dog ran and the gator, barked, the alligator had enough. He grabbed the yippy dog and within seconds was hidden underwater. The people watching the ordeal are screaming and in shock. They assumed that this would never happen and they couldn’t have been more wrong. Remember, these are wild animals and will react appropriately when bothered, approached, or threatened by another being.
