Danger! Croc Crossing the Road

Crocodiles belong to the archosaurs group. They are an ancient group of reptiles that includes dinosaurs! It’s no wonder that this croc is completely unbothered that it is holding up traffic. They are semi-aquatic and spend time in and out of the water. In this vid we see a large crocodile attempting to get onto a narrow crossing over a river. Much to the amusement of the cameraman and his mates, a small silver car is approaching at exactly the same time. With shouted encouragement from the human on-lookers, this magnificent crocodile manages to haul itself out of the water and onto the road. This means that the little sliver car has to come to a halt and we effectively have a stand-off. So, what happens now?

Crocs and Humans

The tourists in the car patiently wait while the croc makes its way across the road. They are perfectly safe inside the car but behind them, some other tourists are on foot and they are making the unwise decision to approach the scene! We all assume that the car occupants just have to sit it out until the croc makes its way back into the water but this croc has other ideas. It stops and takes a rest right in front of the car. Now what are they supposed to do? The little car edges forward and this prompts the croc to take a few steps as well but then the reptile stops again. Meanwhile, the reckless tourist on-foot is getting even closer! When edging forward no longer works, the driver sounds the horn which incredibly prompts the croc to move. Perhaps it is aware of driving etiquette after all! Thankfully, the croc does not notice the tourist out of the car taking a photo – it just slides gracefully back into the water. The traffic can flow freely once more.
